WHY THE DELAY …IN THE DELAYED???
WAS IT GOD’S PERFECT PLAN THAT ISAAC BE BORN AT THE AGE OF 100, OR THEY DID SOMETHING THAT NECESSITATED DELAY
SARAH IMPERATIVELY INSTRUCTED ABRAHAM TO THROW THE BOND WOMAN OUT, WAS SHE WRONG?
It is indeed a fact that Sarah was barren and at the age of 65 she was still without a child. Study surrounding the generation of that time reveals that women her age would have long given birth, around the 30s. In other words regarding the issue of a seed before the call they were already delayed. The delay can be inferred to be the divine orchestration of God. Now the question is from that time period of 65-90 was God still wanting for them to delay. We know that all things work together for good to those who were called according to His purpose. Again, the gifts and callings of God are without repentance.
What do you make of the doctrine of predestination? It is true that God determined the times before appointed. There is nothing about a person’s life that is a mistake. There is nothing like an illegitimate child. Every person has a reason for being, we all have a call. God gave man a call and a will. In other words man is a master of own destiny. You decide whether to be or not. God gives the blueprint, you are the one to choose. God has a plan for your life and the devil’s plans is to frustrate. How does he do that? He brings fear which culminates into disobedience.
Look at it from this way, to go to Grade 7 you have to pass Grade 6. Failure to do so warrants a repeat of the same level. So others will proceed to the next level whilst you polish out on what you missed. Same with the things of the spirit. The principles of God cannot be broken. THROUGH FAITH AND PERSEVARENCE YOU OBTAIN PROMISES. Our call is of faith, we hear the instructions of God and we do accordingly for results. From what we see in Abraham’s life the delay also had to do with a human factor. They had Ishmael. Fear, confusion and unbelief brings about delay. Unless one aligns to/with the plan of God they will have to stay writing corrections. The moment you become true to the faith is the moment your situation changes.
[ (Vs. 10Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac). Was it wrong for Sarah to utter such words? ] now what we have to know is that Hagar and Sarah’s case is an allegory/metaphor. Hagar represented the law and Sarah grace. We are clear that as of now Hagai had listened to the voice of the angel the first time she was chucked out of the premises. The instruction was go and submit yourself to Sarah. We never heard of a problem from then…till we are told of her offspring stirring trouble. We are sure that the trouble now was Ishmael not Hagai. Look at what Sarah says, cast out the bondwoman…, Ishmael is not the problem but the manifestation of it. The knowledge of the law brings about pride, hatred, lust…this is what was now evident in Ishmael. Ishmael was the fruit of the law. Now people of God, what we have to do is not to try and manage a disease but destroy the roots. If you have an evil or a solution you are holding on to, let it go. If you killed a person to start a business…then let go of the business first and ask for forgiveness, not vice versa.
(Galatians 4:27-31 for it has been written, “Be glad, barren one not bearing; break forth and shout, the one not travailing; for more are the children of the desolate rather than she having the husband.” Isa. 54:1 But, brothers, we are children of promise according to Isaac. But then, even as he born according to flesh persecuted the one according to Spirit, so it is also now. But what says the Scripture? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for in no way shall the son of the slave woman inherit with the son of the free woman.” Gen. 21:10 Then, brothers, we are not children of a slave woman but of the free woman).
