What is Breaking of Bread?
(Acts 2:42-47 And they were continuing steadfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers. And fear came on every soul, many wonders also and signs were being done through the apostles, and all those believing were at the same place, and had all things common, and the possessions and the goods they were selling, and were parting them to all, according as anyone had need. Daily also continuing with one accord in the temple, breaking also at every house bread, they were partaking of food in gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people, and the Lord was adding those being saved every day to the assembly)
When Jesus was about to complete his earthly mission He encouraged His disciples to partake of the Holy Communion. Holy Communion is taking in to the body bread and wine. The bread is not eaten wholesome but broken. Here in Acts we encounter disciples walking according to the dictates of their master, they broke bread. This was partaking of Holy Communion. How did they do that? They did that in fellowship. In Luke 24 we encounter Jesus meeting up with the disciples on the road to Emmaus. He became known to them on breaking of bread. How so? He was explaining scripture to them. Taking of communion without revelation is deadly. Paul in the book of Corinthians as he teaches on the subject submits to us that some partake the meal ignorantly, for the same reason many are sick. Jesus refers to Himself as the Bread of Life. How do we take in Jesus? We take Him in through reading and studying the word. Jesus begins to benefit us once we receive revelation from the Holy Spirit over how with Him we can profit.
It is against this background that BREAKING BREAD was brought to being. The main objective of the group is to encourage, compel and entice believers to be scholars of the word. Every believer should study and understand the word. Paul again submits to us that if we give ourselves wholly to the studying of the word our profiting will appear to many. That is the primary reason as to why this group is in existence.

Wow, as breaking bread administration team we are greatly honored having you on board. We are blogging in an environment where most people are not so keen to read…in Africa…its been hard getting readers and interactive feedback…we are praying to God that we break through in the world where people read.
